It will be interesting to see how many of these organizations actually take the plunge and adopt Microsoft’s Unified Communications

@Wayne, I agree. Although pricing was not available at the launch event, I also think it's not going to be cheap when the hard roll out happens.

Interesting that from an education institution point of view, you do not think the benefits outweigh the costs. That is telling actually and my sense is, you are not alone.

Tracking and security is top priority at many corporations. It will be interesting to see how many of these organizations actually take the plunge and adopt Microsoft's Unified Communications.

Thanks for your feedback Wayne.

I attended the Calgary presentation. Very impressive demo, but rolling it out in my environment (U of Calgary) would be a multi-year project. Also, even though pricing was not available, I can see an enterprise enterprise installation costing $100,000 just for the server side. Client side equipment could run unto millions. I can't see the benefits being worth the cost in our case.

When you say:
I am not sure today’s network infrastructure is stable enough to completely handle mission critical voice calls. Networks go down.

I must agree with you, this technology is not mature yet as can be with other free products like Asterisk PBX and OpenSer.

However, nice review
